MATTHEW LE ROUX - Director

Matthew Le Roux is a co-founder and Director of Siyanda Capital. After spending time in London working in Fixed Income trade support at RBS and CSFB, he returned to South Africa in 2000 to join Prebon Yamane as a Fixed Income broker, based in Johannesburg. He later joined SA International & Capital Market Brokers in 2002, before moving to Tradition in 2004, initially broking Fixed Income, and later, Equity Derivative products. Matthew relocated to Cape Town during 2006 to join Cadiz Securities, focusing on the Equity Derivative Interbank Market. In 2010, He co-founded RidgeCape Capital, where he was a Director and Dealer/Broker across various asset classes, namely; Spot Bonds and Futures, Currency Options, and Equity Derivatives, in both an Interbank and Institutional capacity. In 2018, He then co-founded Siyanda Capital with his ex-Cadiz colleague, Luzuko Tashe. Matthew  has over eighteen years’ experience in Financial Markets, and has forged a broad network amongst Banking and Institutional clients.

LUZUKO TASHE - Director

Luzuko is a director and co-founder of Siyanda Capital (Pty) Ltd. He started his career at Investec Bank in 1999 as a trainee dealer on the institutional equities trading desk. In 2002, Luzuko joined the equity derivatives desk as a sales trader in delta one products. He joined Cadiz securities in 2005 as an equity derivatives dealer. During his tenure at Cadiz, the team was voted as the number one dealing desk in South Africa in equity derivatives according to the FM survey. Luzuko joined Citi in the role of equity derivatives sales in 2009 and remained in this role until 2014. In 2014, he joined Avior as part of the team that started the equity derivatives and fixed income desk at the company as a senior dealer on the desk. Luzuko has experience in the execution and sales of the following products: cash equities, equity derivatives, fixed income, currency futures and options.

Sulette Wentzel – Fixed Income Dealer

 Sulette started her career in 1994 at District Securities Bank as a trainee dealer in OTC fixed income options, before moving to BJM Securities in 2001. Sulette joined Cadiz Securities in 2003, trading spot bonds and fixed income derivatives, later gaining experience in transition management. After a 2 year stint on the buy-side with Prowess Investment Management, Sulette joined Prescient Securities in 2017, as a Senior Fixed Income Trader, overseeing trading and client relations, whilst growing the desk and training junior dealers. Sulette brings a wealth of Fixed Income experience to the Siyanda Capital team.

Maryia Piatrova Cloete– Junior Quantitative Analyst and Fixed Income Dealer

Maryia Piatrova Cloete graduated with her honours in financial analysis in 2023, after completing her undergraduate bachelor of commerce in 2022 in Investment Management, both at Stellenbosch University. She completed her CFA Level I, achieving in the top 10th percentile of her cohort, and is currently undertaking CFA Level II. Maria joined Siyanda Capital in 2024 as a junior fixed income quantitative analyst and fixed income dealer.

OBEID MAHOMED - CONSULTS TO SIYANDA CAPITAL

ON QUANTITATIVE PROJECTS. HE IS A LECTURER IN MATHEMATICAL FINANCE, RISK MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY AT THE AFRICAN INSTITUTE OF RISK MANAGEMENT AND FINANCIAL MARKETS (AIFMRM), AT THE UNIVERSITY OF CAPE TOWN. HIS PREVIOUS WORK EXPERIENCE WAS IN THE FINANCIAL SERVICES SECTOR, WITH EXTENSIVE EXPOSURE TO BANKING, ASSET MANAGEMENT, INSURANCE AND STOCK BROKING. OBEID'S ROLES EVOLVED FROM QUANTITATIVE ANALYST TO HEAD OF QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH, WITHIN THE INVESTMENT AND STOCK-BROKING INDUSTRIES, AND THEN TO SENIOR RISK MANAGER AT ONE OF SOUTH AFRICA’S LARGEST BANKS.

Danica Thomas – Settlements , Compliance and Office Manager

Danica joined Siyanda Capital in July 2024 as a Compliance and settlements officer. Previously, she worked at Nonstop Solar in a compliance capacity, adhering well to established protocols. Danica also provides integral support, by handling office management and administration.
